As a young man growing up in Shreveport, Louisiana, I dreamed of following two of my Woodlawn High School heroes, Terry Bradshaw and Joe Ferguson, to an NFL career. At Woodlawn High School, I too, became an All-American and headed off to play college football. But along the way, my high school sweetheart and I were caught up in a powerful move of God on our college campus in the early 70’s.

Jesus revealed himself to us in a very personal way and we were radically changed.

Soon after, we were married and entered into a life of service in the kingdom of God. Ten years later my life’s journey would take me back to athletics when I was asked to help start a football program at a Christian school in Shreveport, La. Little did I know that our small church school would become nationally known for its football and athletic prowess. Truly, we were graced to see something very few people get to see. As we coached the kids and taught them about God’s love and His plans for them, we started winning championships and producing All-Americans and NFL players. Three of my sons, Josh, Abram and John David, set state and national high school records. Josh went on to play in the major League and the NFL. Abram and John David had incredible college careers at LSU and USC and played in the NFL.

God did it all!

A few years later, several of my friends and I were asked to do it again at Calvary Baptist Academy in Shreveport. Would you believe it, God did it again! God gave us another manifestation of His power. Soon championships were won and kid’s lives were impacted. At Calvary, my fourth son, Jack, was named Louisiana High School player of the year. One of the men that God brought alongside me was Doug Peterson as our Head Coach. Doug would later go on to be the Head Coach of Super Bowl champion Philadelphia Eagles . How crazy is that?

Since then, I have been providing consulting, management and advisory services to sports teams, city-wide sports ministries for youth, churches and businessmen across America. I have spent my career inspiring individuals and organizations to develop a culture of elevated performance with a passionate pursuit of a competing edge.

My goal is to help others build a life worth living.
